There might not be any life point as critical as childhood to address mental health and social emotional development. What we do, how we respond, the policies we create, and the practices we implement are all influential factors in the lives of children.
Our work is to guide organizations, school districts, policymakers, philanthropic organizations, and public agencies in making informed and strategic decisions about policies, systems, and strategies that support children's mental health, and to advocate for and empower families and communities to understand systems and resources.

FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH IN COLORADO
In 2015, the Colorado Children's Campaign, Children's Hospital Colorado, and the Colorado Children's Healthcare Access Program published a document titled Young Minds Matter: Supporting Children's Mental Health Through Policy Change, as part of an increasingly important conversation about children's mental health.
In 2013, Rose Community Foundation and Caring for Colorado funded an environmental scan of challenges, progress and recommendations for the social and emotional health of Colorado's young children. Numerous recommendations from this report have guided Colorado's work and collaboration in early childhood mental health.
The Roadmap, developed by Partners for Children's Mental Health promotes a four-year strategic plan, which identifies and prioritizes a series of goals focused on improving quality and expanding access to needed behavioral health services and supports for all of Colorado’s children, youth and their families
In 2019, Colorado's Behavioral Health Task Force launched to design a behavioral health system that works for all Coloradans and lowers costs. Implementation of this blueprint is intended to address the barriers people face to receiving behavioral health care. The Children's Subcommittee developed specific recommendations which begin on page 15 of this report.
